On August 20, Barclays viewed SK Hynix's recent buyback as a 'strong signal' to investors. Barclays analyst Simon Coles predicts that shareholder returns for SK Hynix from 2025 to 2027 will reach approximately 15% of the current market value. Barclays maintains an 'overweight' rating on SK Hynix ADR (SKHY.O) with a target price of $300. The analysis states that SK Hynix can increase shareholder returns without needing to reduce its capacity expansion investments. Typically, large dividends or stock buybacks can constrain a company's investment capabilities, but with strong cash flow, SK Hynix can manage both. Coles noted, 'Even while allocating about 15% of market value for shareholder returns, the company still has ample capacity to advance capacity expansion and new business opportunities in the coming years.' Barclays has raised its quarterly dividend forecast for 2027 to 2,500 KRW per share and the year-end dividend forecast to 10,000 KRW. Assuming a buyback of 200 trillion KRW in 2027, about 51% of the cumulative free cash flow from 2025 to 2027 will be returned to shareholders by the end of 2027.
