If the P5 three-story design is approved, it will adopt a 'triple wafer fab' structure, accommodating up to six cleanrooms. According to this plan, the number of cleanrooms in P5 will increase by approximately 50%, and overall production capacity is expected to rise by at least 50%. In the future, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix may also adopt similar three-story wafer fab designs for new fabs in the Yongin semiconductor industrial park. Industry experts believe that Samsung's expansion of its advanced manufacturing base reflects the accelerating demand for memory and advanced process capacity in the context of growing global AI chip demand.

On August 19, the KITE Foundation published an update on the handling of the KITE token security incident and the progress of the contract migration. The team has deployed a new KITE ERC-20 contract on the Ethereum mainnet, maintaining the total token supply. Legacy KITE tokens will be migrated to the new KITE at a 1:1 ratio, with addresses confirmed to be controlled by the attacker excluded from receiving new tokens. The migration snapshot is based on the Ethereum mainnet block height of 25,692,498 (mined on August 6, 2026, at 09:05:23), and the new contract has completed an independent third-party security audit. For regular self-custody wallet (EOA) users, the team will directly distribute new tokens to the original addresses based on the snapshot, requiring no manual exchange, connection to migration websites, or authorization of smart contracts. Exchange users will not need to submit migration forms or perform any on-chain operations; the migration will be coordinated between the exchanges and the KITE team, with exchanges updating their systems according to their respective schedules and gradually restoring KITE deposits and withdrawals. Cross-chain channels will remain paused until the migration and verification are completed, and liquidity for the new tokens will resume afterward. The team also warns the community to be vigilant against potential impersonation customer service, phishing links, and fake airdrop pages during the migration period, emphasizing that the official team will never ask for mnemonic phrases, private keys, passwords, two-factor authentication codes, or API keys, nor will they request payment for migration fees. The new contract address and migration progress will only be published through official channels.
