On August 8, the latest software version 3.3.0 of XRP Ledger (XRPL) introduced several upgrade proposals. Among them, the "Confidential Transfers" feature aims to provide institutional users with higher privacy protection by encrypting token balances and transfer amounts, while keeping accounts and token types visible. The feature is primarily designed for Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPT) on XRPL, with target use cases including tokenized financial assets such as funds and bonds. Through cryptographic techniques like zero-knowledge proofs, the network can verify transaction validity without disclosing specific amounts. According to CoinDesk, XRPL currently has approximately $1.38 billion in on-chain real-world assets (RWA), including around $845.7 million RLUSD. Apart from RLUSD, there are over $530 million in tokenized assets on XRPL, involving issuers such as Ondo, VERT Capital, Archax, and Société Générale. In addition to Confidential Transfers, XRPL 3.3.0 also includes five proposals—Batch, Sponsor, Permission Delegation, Dynamic MPT, among others—addressing institutional needs such as batch transactions, fee sponsorship, permission management, and dynamic adjustment of token attributes. However, these upgrades have not yet been officially launched and will only be activated after receiving support from more than 80% of XRPL trusted validation nodes for two consecutive weeks. On July 21, meme coin launchpad Pump.fun announced the launch of a new BOOST mode, which will be set as the default launch mechanism for all newly issued Pump.fun tokens. This feature aims to address the long-standing problem of 'dead liquidity' during token migration, using a buyback and burn mechanism to reinject permanently locked liquidity back into the token market. Pump.fun stated that historically, over $100 million in liquidity was permanently lost each year during token migration, with these funds no longer available to support market liquidity. Previously, approximately 20% of the liquidity from each migrated token would remain locked in liquidity pools (LPs), even if all traders sold their holdings, leaving some funds permanently in the pool. BOOST mode will utilize these locked funds to automatically reinject liquidity into the market within 5 minutes after each token migration. Specifically, after migration, BOOST mode will execute buybacks using a time-weighted average price (TWAP) mechanism and automatically burn the purchased tokens. For SOL trading pairs, 17.6 SOL will be injected, and for USDC trading pairs, $2,516 will be injected. Pump.fun noted that this mechanism does not require manual activation by users; all newly migrated Pump.fun tokens after 10:23 AM Eastern Time on July 21 will automatically have the BOOST configuration enabled. Tokens migrated earlier or issued through the Mayhem platform will not include this feature. The upgrade aims to improve the trading experience and enhance the long-term utilization efficiency of liquidity within the ecosystem.
