On August 12, Super Micro Computer (SMCI) reported its Q4 FY2026 results, with revenue of $11.12 billion, nearly doubling from $5.76 billion in the same period last year, but slightly below analysts' expectations of $11.3 billion to $11.6 billion, primarily due to delays at customers related to power, cooling, and networking. Gross margin improved significantly to 17.5%, above the company's preliminary forecast of 15% to 17% from last month, and far higher than the initial expectation of 8.2% to 8.4%. Adjusted EPS was $1.70, well above the analyst estimate of $0.92; net income was $1.17 billion, compared to just $195.2 million a year ago. The company also provided strong guidance: it expects Q1 revenue (ending September) of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.01 to $1.10, significantly above analyst expectations of about $12 billion; FY2027 revenue guidance is $65 billion to $72 billion, far exceeding analysts' expectations of $52.5 billion to $54.4 billion. New orders exceeded $60 billion, and backlog reached a record high. In FY2026, nine customers each contributed over $1 billion in revenue, compared to four in the prior year. According to BIT (bit.com) market data, SMCI closed up 0.45% and rose another 7.56% in after-hours trading.

A Tencent Cloud executive recently stated at a sub-forum of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference that in order to minimize inference costs, the company will massively deploy domestic computing power. The company expects to deploy NPO (Near-Package Optics) super nodes in the fourth quarter of 2026 and calls for unified NPO industry standards both domestically and internationally. On July 20, QianVision Technology unveiled the wylon super node system compatible with the Token Factory at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026). The new wylon Q72/288 super node model features 72 domestic GPUs per cabinet, with the capability to expand to 288 cards across four cabinets. It is equipped with ultra-large video memory, high interconnect bandwidth, and dedicated cache in the hundreds of TBs. Combined with the HitenOS large model operating system, it optimizes computational speed and throughput on domestic GPU platforms, achieving over ten times comprehensive performance improvement. Currently, the Token Factory East China cluster built on the wylon super node architecture has begun testing. In addition, the wylon super node system collaborates with several domestic GPU companies, including Cambrian, Birun, Muxi, Xiwang, Haiguang, and Moore Threads, to construct a full-stack domestic AI infrastructure.
