Cursor Launches GitHub Competitor Origin; Underlying Architecture Open-Sourced by Shopify CEO
According to Dongcha Beating AI news, Cursor has just launched its code hosting platform Origin, and Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke has open-sourced its underlying Git architecture. The project, named walgit, replicates the Continuity system developed by Cursor for Origin. Tobi mentioned that he was struggling with Shopify's internal Git system, and after reading Cursor's technical article, he wrote it over a weekend. The biggest change in Continuity is that the final data of the repository is stored in S3 (cloud object storage), with the local Git server acting only as a cache. Each push first writes to a WAL (Write-Ahead Log) that records changes to the repository in order, and then updates the status through CAS (Check-And-Submit) to ensure no one has modified it first. This way, if the server fails, it can be easily replaced without the need to maintain a fixed primary node and complex repository replication relationships. Walgit implements this architecture as a Rust program, which can run by connecting to S3, GCS, and other object storage without requiring an additional database. It also supports bundle-uri (pre-packaging large repositories so that clones can be downloaded directly from object storage or CDN), as well as Git LFS, Web UI, API, OIDC login, and webhook. However, walgit primarily replicates the underlying Git storage of Origin, not the entire Origin platform. Features like PR, Issues, and complete CI collaboration layers are still not available.

FAQs

Q What payment methods does Poloniex support for buying SEED (SEED)?
APoloniex supports: 1) Credit/debit cards (Visa/MasterCard) for instant purchases of stablecoins (eg. USDT); 2) P2P trading to buy stablecoins (e.g. USDT) from other users via escrow; 3) Bank transfers (fiat deposits) in USD and other fiat currencies (1-3 business days processing); 4) OTC trading for large transactions exceeding $100,000, with custom quotes.
Q What are the fees for buying SEED with a credit/debit card?
ACredit card payment process fees vary depending on the third-party provider, typically ranging from 0.5% to 1.5%. Poloniex does not store any data of your card.
