Reports indicate that Gao believes that with the rapid development of Agentic AI, the AI inference process will involve model invocation, tool execution, search, database interaction, and extensive task scheduling, making CPUs play a more significant role in scheduling and control within AI systems. It is reported that during his time at Tencent, Gao was involved in RISC-V related research and participated in various technical directions including chip architecture, verification, and backend. His new company plans to create high-performance server CPUs based on the open instruction set RISC-V to enter the AI infrastructure market.
