On September 23, the Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is investigating Kalshi for 'wash trading.' Allegations have surfaced that since August, traders on the prediction market Kalshi have executed nearly 1 million trades in the Ethereum futures market, with each trade amount being nearly identical. This unusual activity has drawn the attention of federal regulators and traders. Kalshi stated in a blog post that there are no false transactions on the platform, and the repeated quotes are fixed prices set by market makers, which faster traders can seize. Kalshi co-founder Luana Lopes Lara told the Wall Street Journal that the exchange is trying to attract large traders to enter new markets to promote broader adoption, a situation that is not uncommon. 'Any market trying to launch new products and new businesses goes through this process,' she said, 'it's very normal.'

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, delivered a keynote speech at the 12th Global Blockchain Summit, stating that blockchain was initially a primary tool characterized by openness, neutrality, and security. However, it was not scalable and completely transparent, lacking privacy protection mechanisms. The introduction of zero-knowledge proofs has transformed this situation by enabling private transactions and scalable verification, which have been incorporated into Ethereum's roadmap as actual EIPs. Technologies such as fully homomorphic encryption are also beginning to be applied, and indistinguishable obfuscation may potentially be utilized on-chain in the future. Beyond privacy, the parallel construction and proof of blocks can enable extreme scalability, shifting industry focus from digital assets to digital assets plus information, and from purely on-chain to user-end, transaction memory pools, and a complete on-chain pipeline, as well as from who can send what to who can see what. Currently, blockchain is gradually evolving from a simple ledger to a cryptographic security computing network. With the development of AI, providing cryptographic rules to AI for automated formal verification can significantly enhance verification efficiency, allowing the chain to carry more possibilities.
