AI startup Emerald AI has announced the completion of a $150 million funding round, achieving a valuation of $1.05 billion. This round was led by DCVC and Energize Capital, with participation from Nvidia, Samsung Ventures, GE Vernova, Salesforce Ventures, and others. The company utilizes proprietary software to help data centers flexibly adjust their power consumption based on grid demand: reducing load during peak times and utilizing excess computing power during low periods, effectively alleviating the pressure on power supply from the surge in AI computing needs. Contracts have already been established in California and Virginia, and the company is collaborating with Nvidia, Oracle, and others for testing.
