According to a tweet from f2pool, the Litecoin network encountered abnormal activity on April 25, involving invalid MWEB transactions and a temporary chain split. Starting from block 3,095,931, f2pool mined critical blocks and, after catching up with 13 blocks, helped the valid chain surpass the invalid fork, ultimately naturally reconstituting back to the correct chain.

On April 26, Litecoin released an update: a zero-day vulnerability triggered a DoS attack, disrupting major mining pools; unupdated mining nodes allowed an invalid MWEB transaction, resulting in related funds being transferred to a third-party DEX; a reorganization of 13 blocks has rolled back these invalid transactions, which will not be included in the main chain; all valid transactions during this period were unaffected; the vulnerability has been fully patched, and the network is currently operating normally.

On April 26, Litecoin announced on platform X that a recent zero-day vulnerability had caused a DoS attack, affecting the operation of major mining pools. Mining nodes that had not been updated allowed an invalid MWEB (MimbleWimble Extension Block) transaction to be executed, enabling the related tokens to be withdrawn to a third-party DEX. The Litecoin network rolled back these invalid transactions through a reorganization (reorg) of 13 blocks, confirming that they would not be included in the main chain. All valid transactions during this period were unaffected, and the vulnerability has now been fully resolved, with network operations returning to normal.
