On August 24, Solana Developers announced via Twitter that voting has commenced for the Solana validator governance proposals SGP-0001, SGP-0002, and SGP-0003. Voting will continue until the end of epoch 1023. The three proposals are as follows: SGP-0001 (adoption of the Solana Constitution to activate on-chain governance mechanisms), SGP-0002 (increasing the deflation rate from the current -15% to -30%), and SGP-0003 (restructuring the base transaction fees into a fixed base fee paid to block producers and an independent resource fee calculated based on transaction costs, which will be 100% burned).

On August 24, former AllianceBernstein Chief Economist Joseph Carson raised doubts about why U.S. Treasury Secretary Becerra has kept a supposedly excellent plan for reducing national debt under wraps.
