On September 10, stablecoin issuer Circle announced it has acquired Singapore-based cross-border payment infrastructure company Tazapay in an all-stock transaction valued at $400 million. According to Circle's 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the acquisition agreement was signed on September 4, and the transaction price will be paid in Circle Class A shares, subject to adjustments based on Tazapay's debt, transaction costs, and cash position. Circle stated that Tazapay brings over $25 billion in annualized payment volume (as of July 31, 2026), more than 60 banking and fintech partners, and local payment channels covering over 100 markets. As of July 31, over 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume has been conducted in stablecoins. Tazapay has been a design partner in Circle's payment network since 2025, and this acquisition will transform that partnership into Circle's own business. The transaction is expected to be completed in 2027, pending regulatory approvals, including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Circle indicated that Tazapay's customer services, APIs, pricing, and support will remain unaffected.

As of the close on September 10, the price of light crude oil futures for October delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose by $3.02, settling at $96.05 per barrel, an increase of 3.25%. Meanwhile, the price of Brent crude oil futures for November delivery increased by $3.29, closing at $101.21 per barrel, a rise of 3.36%.
