In March of this year, the Department of Labor proposed related rules that could provide a potential safe harbor for including alternative assets in 401(k) plans, but the initiative faced opposition from some Democratic lawmakers who argue that the volatility of crypto assets and insufficient investor protections are concerning. This indicates that while U.S. policy is gradually easing the channels for allocating retirement funds to crypto assets, ordinary investors remain cautious about the associated risks.
