San Francisco startup Dream has emerged from stealth mode, announcing the completion of a $17 million seed funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from SV Angel, XYZ, and Zigg Capital. Dream was co-founded by Andy Elder and Arjun Mathur, who both have nearly a decade of experience at Palantir. The company is developing a 'building world model' trained on over 100 million square feet of permitted building data in the United States. The model can understand spatial relationships between building components, such as the routing of HVAC ducts through walls. The company claims that the blueprints generated by the model are accurate enough for contractors to use for direct construction. The initial business focus is on commercial projects such as storefronts, offices, and data centers.

According to Bloomberg, sources reveal that Blackstone Group plans to sell the office portion of the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho complex for approximately 300 billion yen (about $1.9 billion) and is currently negotiating with potential buyers. Blackstone is also considering packaging some of the trust benefits of the property as digital securities to sell to individual investors in smaller shares. Blackstone has not commented on this matter. The complex, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, includes office buildings, hotels, residences, and commercial facilities. Blackstone acquired the complex in 2024 for about 400 billion yen, setting a record for the largest real estate investment by a foreign investor in Japan at that time. The sale involves only part of the property, and the related transaction and digital securities issuance plans have not yet been finalized.

Richard Roberts, a former senior official who served over 20 years in the Federal Reserve system and is now an economics professor at Monmouth University, spoke to reporters following the conclusion of the recent monetary policy meeting. Roberts, who was responsible for credit risk management at the New York Fed during the 2008 global financial crisis and participated in the preparation for Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings, noted that the decision to maintain interest rates was not surprising. What is particularly noteworthy is the public support from two officials for further rate hikes and the Fed's improved assessment of economic growth. When asked about the biggest risks currently overlooked by Wall Street, Roberts specifically mentioned artificial intelligence. He believes the market may not fully recognize the significant uncertainties that AI poses for U.S. inflation and employment. 'I'm not sure I would say the market completely ignores this risk, but it may not be giving it the level of attention that I do,' Roberts stated. (21st Century Business Herald)
