Origins and Leadership

VNX Commodities AG, the entity behind VGBP, was founded by Alexander Tkachenko, a serial entrepreneur and angel investor with an MBA from Columbia University and the London Business School. Tkachenko conceptualized VNX in 2017 as a platform to democratize access to illiquid assets through blockchain tokenization. Initially focused on venture capital and precious metals, the company pivoted to stablecoins in 2022, launching VNX Gold (VNXAU) before expanding into fiat-referenced tokens like VGBP. Under Tkachenko’s leadership, VNX established itself as a Trustworthy Technology (TT) Service Provider, registered with the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA).

Regulatory Compliance

Liechtenstein’s Blockchain Act, enacted in 2020, provides the legal foundation for VGBP’s operations. This legislation mandates strict reserve requirements, operational transparency, and periodic audits, distinguishing VGBP from unregulated stablecoins. Dr. Thomas Dünser, Director of Liechtenstein’s Office for Financial Market Innovation, emphasizes that the Blockchain Act ensures a “legally secure link between the token economy and the physical world,” fostering trust among institutional and retail users.
