Danske Bank strategists indicate that the U.S. dollar remains strong against major currencies, supported by high U.S. Treasury yields and expectations of a hawkish Federal Reserve policy. They anticipate that the yields on 10-year and 30-year U.S. Treasuries could rise to 6%. The relative strength index stands at 73.6, showing a strong upward trend for the dollar index, although the potential for further gains may be limited.

During the European trading session on Thursday, Dow Jones futures fell by 0.56%, S&P 500 futures dropped by 0.28%, and Nasdaq 100 futures decreased by 0.44%. U.S. Treasury yields have risen to multi-year highs, and high oil prices are exacerbating inflation concerns. Tensions between the U.S. and Iran pose threats in the Strait of Hormuz. The market is focused on speeches from Federal Reserve officials and the upcoming quarterly earnings reports.

The semiconductor research firm SemiAnalysis has released a survey on China's data centers, tracking over 1,000 facilities operated by more than 60 operators. The report estimates that by the end of 2026, China's data center capacity will exceed 24GW, making it second only to the United States, which has 56GW. ByteDance accounts for nearly one-fifth of this capacity, making it the largest data center tenant in the country. ByteDance has leased over 4GW of data center capacity, with suppliers including Qinhuai Data, China Unicom Data, and Century Internet. The report states that as of early 2026, ByteDance will still contribute about 90% of Qinhuai Data's revenue. ByteDance has also begun to accelerate its own construction of large data centers in Shanxi, Anhui, and Inner Mongolia to reduce reliance on external suppliers. The report further notes that while China's data centers have long been considered to have a high vacancy rate, AI server rooms remain in short supply due to many old facilities lacking sufficient power and cooling capabilities to directly deploy high-power AI servers, while newly built large AI data centers are quickly being rented out. For example, a 100MW data center, excluding IT equipment such as servers, has a construction cost of about $300 million in China, compared to about $1.5 billion in the United States, with Chinese facilities of similar scale typically delivered in about 12 months. In contrast to the power supply and approval issues faced in the U.S., the more prominent bottleneck for expanding AI data centers in China is the supply of advanced chips.
