FUSAKAとは

Fusaka is fundamentally an Ethereum hard fork upgrade designed to tackle the scalability issues that have long hindered blockchain development. By implementing twelve distinct EIPs, the upgrade aims to significantly enhance the network's capability to handle data-intensive transactions, particularly those produced by Layer 2 solutions.

The central innovation brought by Fusaka is Peer Data Availability Sampling (PeerDAS), a groundbreaking approach to data verification that fundamentally alters how validators interact with transaction data. Traditional validation processes often require nodes to download entire datasets—an operation that consumes considerable bandwidth and storage resources, thus limiting network participation. PeerDAS enables validators to verify data integrity through statistical sampling, a method akin to quality control systems. This advancement allows Ethereum to support a significantly higher volume of transactions without a corresponding increase in computational demands, positioning the network favorably against centralized systems while preserving its decentralized nature.

In addition to the significant changes brought about by PeerDAS, Fusaka also focuses on enhancing the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and the overall operational efficiency of the network.
