Originally launched in 2021 under the name YRAL (Your Responsible AI Layer), the project aimed to incentivize content consumption on a social media platform. However, as it faced challenges with user acquisition and monetization in the Web3 realm, a strategic re-evaluation became necessary to address a fundamental gap in the market: the need for robust decentralized social infrastructure.

This pivotal moment led to the formation of DOLR AI in 2024, marking a significant shift from a user-centric app to a foundational protocol that supports a myriad of dApps.

Key Milestones in the Evolution:

• Q1 2024: Initiation of the Layer 2 architecture focused on enhancing cross-dApp user portability.
• Q2 2024: Successful migration of over 500,000 users to {DOLR AI}'s canister-based system, establishing an active social graph.
• Q3 2024: Onboarding of external projects like FuelEV and Estate, showcasing the protocol's multi-application compatibility.
• Q1 2025: Public launch of the developer APIs and SDKs, inviting external developers to integrate their dApps into the DOLR ecosystem.

Investment and Ecosystem Growth

DOLR AI’s early-stage financing came from community-driven initiatives, notably the HotOrNot SNS decentralized offering. Among its notable investors, an individual identified as Adam contributed significant resources, securing various governance privileges. The project's funding strategy diverges from traditional models in favor of transparent, community-based mechanisms.

In addition, DOLR AI's treasury management strategy involves staking ICP reserves, which generates yields that contribute to strengthening the ecosystem's long-term sustainability.
