Maximilian stated that traditional SAP developers wishing to connect business processes to Cardano typically need to learn about UTxO models, transaction construction, CBOR serialization, fee calculations, collateral, and key management. ODATANO encapsulates these complex blockchain operations within a service layer, enabling Cardano to be accessed as a standard OData service in SAP applications. Currently, ODATANO offers 31 entities along with functionalities for data reading, transaction construction, and signing, allowing queries for blocks, addresses, UTxOs, assets, and protocol parameters, and supports building, signing, and submitting transactions. The project can operate as an SAP CAP plugin or be deployed independently. Maximilian also introduced reference applications built on ODATANO, including TRACE, QUANTIX, FINCA, and x402. Among them, QUANTIX is a B2B raw materials procurement and settlement application based on an oracle, which won the Charli3 Oracle hackathon championship in 2026. According to the Cardano developer portal, ODATANO received funding through the Cardano Catalyst Fund 14. The project is currently developed solely by Maximilian, who has completed 1,285 automated tests with a code statement coverage of 99%.
