On November 5, discussions on further tightening monetary policy by the Bank of Japan are intensifying. The latest released minutes from the meeting indicate that some policymakers believe the Bank should consider accelerating interest rate hikes as Japan's core inflation gradually approaches the 2% policy target, in order to guard against prices continuing to exceed expectations. The minutes from the Bank of Japan's monetary policy meeting held on September 17-18 show that several members agree on the necessity of continuing to raise interest rates, with one member explicitly stating that if signs of unexpected upward price movements occur, the pace of rate hikes should be accelerated. During the September meeting, the Bank raised the policy interest rate from 1% to 1.25%, marking the highest level in 31 years. This also represents the Bank's first rate hike in three months, accelerating from the previous pace of adjustments approximately every six months.

According to LatePost, Yang Tianzhen, founder of Yixin Entertainment, has co-founded a venture capital firm named Helios Venture with Jiang Shanshan, former head of frontier technology investments at Alibaba. The firm will focus on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, embodied intelligence, nuclear fusion, and brain-machine interfaces. The two have clearly defined roles: Jiang Shanshan will handle investments, while Yang Tianzhen will manage investor relations, content, and brand building. Jiang Shanshan previously served as the managing director of Alibaba's strategic investment department, where she led investments in over a dozen frontier technology projects in the past three years, totaling more than 10 billion RMB, including projects like Dark Side of the Moon, robotics company Sharpa, and nuclear fusion company Nova Fusion. In August of this year, she left Alibaba to start her own fund. Their collaboration began when Jiang Shanshan sought Yang Tianzhen's advice on how to establish influence for the new fund, leading Yang to propose a joint venture. Jiang believes that after leaving Alibaba, the new fund must build its own brand to compete with leading institutions for quality startup projects. Yang Tianzhen will leverage her experience in artist management and content marketing to connect with entrepreneurs and provide support in brand communication and founder image management for the invested companies. The two also plan to co-produce a technology podcast aimed at the general public. Jiang summarized their collaboration logic by stating that investment capability is '1', while content is the '0' that follows. In terms of investment strategy, she prefers selective heavy investments and mentioned that she has reviewed over a hundred AI application companies without making any investments, believing that consumer-facing AI productivity tools and entertainment applications will likely be dominated by large firms or model companies in the future, while there may be more independent entrepreneurial opportunities in complex fields like enterprise-level AI agent infrastructure.
