On August 25, CryptoQuant analyst Moreno reported that the Bitcoin 'new whale' group realized profits exceeding $1.2 billion in the past three days, marking the largest profit-taking event in the group's history. On August 20 alone, profits reached approximately $614 million, setting a record for the highest single-day profit. Meanwhile, Bitcoin's price returned above the short-term whale realization price of around $68,900, with BTC trading close to $77,700 on August 23, about 12.8% higher than the total cost basis of the 'new whales.' In the previous months, some of the recently accumulated Bitcoin by large whales were at a long-term loss, but this rebound has completely altered their chip structure, providing those previously trapped with an opportunity to exit at the breakeven point and lock in substantial profits. The current trend thus constitutes an important demand test. If BTC can maintain above the whale cost basis of around $70,000 and profit-taking gradually returns to normal levels, it would indicate that new demand is effectively absorbing the distribution pressure, providing a basis for the continuation of the rebound. Conversely, if profit realization remains high and the price falls below this cost basis again, this rebound may resemble a 'breakeven exit rebound,' with previously trapped holders turning into selling pressure once more. The market has regained profitability, and it now needs to prove whether it can absorb the pressure released by this profit-taking.
