According to Beating AI news, Tencent has specifically trained Qwen3.5-122B-A10B for terminal Agent tasks, resulting in T1. It primarily handles complex tasks in Linux terminals, with a single task capable of calling tools continuously for over 300 rounds. The score on Terminal-Bench 2.1 increased from the baseline of 43.8% to 64.0%, a rise of 20.2 points. A significant portion of this increase comes from reinforcement learning. The supervised fine-tuning (SFT) only raised the score to 49.4%, while subsequent reinforcement learning contributed an additional 14.6 points. The team prepared approximately 15,000 terminal tasks, each equipped with automated testing. The Agent does not need to complete the entire task; it can receive corresponding rewards by fulfilling some of the requirements. However, long-term tasks present a challenge. The content processed by the Agent during actual work may be tokenized differently when retrained later, and the mixture of experts (MoE) may involve different specialists. T1 records the tokens generated at the time and the selected experts, replaying them directly during training, which reduces this training bias by about one-third.

On August 28, Japan invested a record $96.4 billion over the past month to support the yen, which had previously fallen to its lowest level in 40 years. This underscores the Japanese authorities' willingness to take increasingly strong measures to support the yen's exchange rate. Data released by the Japanese Ministry of Finance on Friday showed that from July 30 to August 26, the Japanese government intervened in the foreign exchange market with a total of 15.4 trillion yen, setting a record for monthly intervention amounts. This intervention was also supported by the United States, further warning speculators not to bet on a decline in the yen. Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki and U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen confirmed in early August that the two countries coordinated their intervention on July 31. Both officials stated that they are prepared to intervene in the market again without hesitation if necessary. The funds contributed by the U.S. are not included in the data released by the Japanese Ministry of Finance and are expected to be smaller in scale, but their symbolic significance is more important.
