On October 8, Cointelegraph's official X account published an open letter in response to a previous report by CoinDesk, clearly stating, "We are not for sale." In the letter, Cointelegraph claimed that CoinDesk's report was "based on false information and contained multiple factual errors," and stated that while they welcome oversight, they will not remain silent when "speculation is treated as fact." The media outlet demanded that CoinDesk correct the record, explicitly acknowledge its errors, and provide equal exposure for the corrections as the original report, while opposing the idea of "quietly modifying wording and pretending the original report was accurate." Previously, CoinDesk reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources, that Cointelegraph was seeking buyers following a significant decline in search traffic, without disclosing the asking price or timeline for the sale. Cointelegraph did not respond to specific traffic data in the open letter.

According to a Reuters report cited by Nikkei Asia, the union representing employees at Micron Technology's Taoyuan plant in Taiwan announced on Wednesday that it has obtained authorization for a strike from its members, with the main point of contention being the company's bonus plan. The union stated that 1,994 members voted in favor of the strike, accounting for 99% of the voters, while details regarding the timing of the strike are still under discussion. Micron employs approximately 15,000 people in Taiwan, with independent unions in Taoyuan and Taichung, collectively representing over 80% of Micron's workforce in Taiwan. Micron Taiwan is the company's largest manufacturing base. Taiwan is a critical production site for Micron's DRAM and high-bandwidth memory, with related chips being essential components for AI servers. Mediation with the Taoyuan union failed to reach an agreement in September, while negotiations with the Taichung union are ongoing. In September, Micron announced bonuses for over 60,000 employees worldwide for the fiscal year 2026, citing an 'extraordinary year' for the company, with Taiwanese employees receiving a cash bonus of 1 million New Taiwan dollars, approximately 31,400 USD. The Taoyuan union claimed that the plan did not address their request for a permanent profit-sharing mechanism and criticized Micron for announcing the bonuses without first reaching an agreement with the union during mediation.
